So, 2 weeks ago I was at a homeschool family camp and one of the speakers shared a WorldVision video about being a "somebody" to hurting kids in foreign countries. This video showed starving children repeatedly asking,"Will you be my somebody?" Their "somebody" in this case would be someone to sponsor them, pay for their food, Godly education, clothes, etc... Since I was a little girl, my family has always supported programs like WorldVision, Compassion, and now Potter's Field Ministries. Well, videos and commercials and newsletters like this have always broken my heart, made me cry, and made me want to do something more then just give money. I've always wanted to personally meet these kids and deliver the food, or give them a hug or bring them clothes that fit. So when I saw the video this time, I realized that being accepted to the IGNITE program means that I am going to be their somebody! This realization made me feel over-the-moon excited. I understand that this year long missions internship is no doubt going to be the most challenging and life changing thing I have ever done, but I am ready and so excited to be changed, challenged, stretched and molded in the way that the Potter wants me to be. How insane is it that I, a broken and sinful person, is getting such a wonderful opportunity? To go into the world and preach the Gospel to all nations! I get to love on hurting children and show them how much their Heavenly Daddy loves them! What an amazing thing! I am so grateful! My dream since I was little has been to be a missionary and To Share His Hope and that is now what I get to do. And this is just the beginning, just a stepping stone to what God is going to do with the rest of my life and I could not be more excited! I'll Be Their Somebody, but I will need your help! There is no way that I can go on this journey without your love, prayer, and support! Soon, I will be posting the details of what my internship is and what I need your prayer and support for. For now, please be praying that I will be totally moldable, selfless and open to anything and everything that He is going to do with me.
